May 24, 2023: Centre for Innovation in Learning & Ed - Transformation (CILET) at the School of Business Studies organized a workshop "Leveraging SAP S4 HANA System: Empowering Faculty to enhance classroom learning". The purpose of the workshop is to introduce the IBA faculty to the SAP software.
Dr. Muhammad Kamran Mumtaz, Assistant Professor Management / Director (CILET) initiated the session and gave an introduction to SAP software. "IBA started SAP software in 2009" mentioned Muhammad Asif Jaffer, Assistant Professor of Accounting & Law. He further stated the current facts and figures of the SAP by showing the company profile and has been engaged in training SAP in IBA since 2009.
There are different SAP products, we are discussing SAP S4 HANA today, having different modules specifically for institutional purposes and IBA said Mr. Jaffer. He further discusses the importance of SAP and the companies opting for it for the future including the Government of Pakistan becoming the first, to use SAP for its operations.
IBA pays a certain amount annually to SAP and both the students and faculty can have access to it as per their domains. The training modules of SAP have been placed in the library to counter the non-friendly user interface of the online software.
The training ended after providing access to the participants to explore the software further and join the team as an instructor in the future.
It is primarily focused on people who:
- Are unsure of the different types of cases they can write
- May have a story to tell, but are not sure how to convert it into a case and a teaching note
- Are not sure how to go about collecting data, or what data is actually needed
- May just have a tentative topic and a business in mind.
- Want to find the right dilemma for their case
The participants will spend the two days of this workshop on working on the actual case and teaching note they have in mind.
