This 90min introduction workshop was designed for IBA (Institute of Business Administration) faculty interested in discussing student engagement strategies in IBA.

Session (90mins): A Dialogue on Student Engagement Strategy

  1. Introduction of the concept of shared space
  2. Few ideas regarding teaching plan and the course objective etc.
  3. Selection of case studies for your course
  4. Course concepts knowledge theory
  5. Tools Box: exercises, games, role play, team, and group activities etc.
  6. Demonstratable skills and practice
  • critical and analytical thinking
  • team problem solving and decision making
  • leadership in crisis
  • communication and presenting ideas
  • controlling biases and prejudices
  • listening, thinking, and not jumping to conclusions
  • out of the box thinking and creativity

(1) to provide an in-depth methodological introduction into the PLS-SEM approach (the nature of causal modeling, analytical objectives, some statistics),

(2) the evaluation of measurement results, and

(3) complementary analytical techniques.

More specifically, participants will understand the following topics:

  • Model development and fundamentals of PLS-SEM
  • Assessment and reporting of measurement and structural model results
  • A new criterion for discriminant validity: The heterotrait-monotrait ratio of correlations (HTMT)
  • Mediating effects
  • Moderating effects (interaction effects)
  • Higher-order constructs (e.g., second-order models)
